Write for us
We welcome pitches about clothing, materials, personal style, dress codes and the histories behind what people wear. A strong proposal gives readers a clear reason to look again, without relying on shopping lists, trend forecasts or claims that one way of dressing suits everyone.
What makes a good pitch
Send a short proposal that names the subject, the central idea and what a reader will understand by the end. Explain why the piece has lasting value, how you would keep it specific, and what material or examples would support it. We are especially interested in distinct angles that do not repeat the ground already covered by other planned pieces.
A measured, reader-first voice
We favour clear explanations, careful distinctions and a voice that leaves room for personal taste. Pitches should avoid unsupported claims, rigid rules about appearance, and material that depends on professional advice. If a piece involves products or a commercial relationship, disclose that in the proposal.
Where to send a proposal
Send pitches through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include your proposed title, a short summary and any relevant context. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and you do not need to send a finished article unless requested.
